Should I have a Wedding Welcome Banner?

Sage Green Floral & Gold Text Wedding Welcome Banner

Wedding welcome banners have become very popular these days. They are a great way of adding a personal touch to your big day and make your guests feel warm and welcomed. These banners are typically displayed at the entrance of your venue. Either church and then reception or just hotel reception for civil ceremonies. These signs are usually designs to match in with your overall stationery/wedding theme eg. floral, rustic, Boho, modern, elegant or even humorous. A wedding welcome banner can help welcome guests while also setting the tone for your big day. So what type of welcome sign should I go for then??

1: What Type of Welcome Banner?

There are many different styles and materials to choose from when it comes to wedding welcome banners, so it’s important to consider what will work best for your wedding theme and venue. Some popular options include paper posters, plastic Foamex hard backed board, pull up display banners, acrylic transparent boards & fabric banners. Lets discuss each in a bit more detail.

    – Foamex Board

Our most popular type would be a 5mm plastic Foamex board that will stand up on an easel which can usually be supplied by your hotel.

    – Printed Poster

This version is a 300gsm display poster usually size A1 that will need to be attached to a mirror for backing to stand.

    – Pull Up Banner

The pull up display banners are 2meters high and 80cm in width. They enable a lot of info to be displayed which usually allows for couples to not only add a welcome message but to display extra info for guests such as an order of service.

This is great for letting guests know important info. Such as when drinks receptions starts, dinner time, 1st dance and any other upcoming events. We have also used these pull up banners to display photos of the bride & groom maybe from childhood to growing up and early romance. These have went down a treat with guests as it give a real insight into the couples journey. Oh and some cute and funny baby pics to be discussed during the night.

    – Acrylic Transparent Board

This type of wedding welcome banner printed on an acrylic transparent board is one of our high end product and they exude style, class and elegance.

A large transparent board similar to the Foamex version above allows for some pretty elegant designs and script fonts with a see through backing.

    – Fabric Banners

These banners are usually printed on a vinyl poster paper or PVC material and are hung from a wall or frame. They are mostly designed horizontal but can be designed any way you like with our professional design team.

2: What Size Banner Will Work Best?

In addition to the material and design theme, you’ll also want to consider the size of your wedding welcome banner. If it is going to be displayed as you enter the reception room of your wedding or even entrance to the church, you’ll probably want to make sure it’s big enough to be seen from a distance, but not so big that it overwhelms the space. If you’re hanging it somewhere else on the property, such as near the ceremony site or reception area, you can choose a smaller banner that will still make a statement. Our most popular size is A1 – however A2 and also A0 are also popular sizes for those wanting to make the signs more or less prominent.

3: What Will The Sign Say?

So you’ve decided on the style and size of your wedding welcome banner, now is the time to begin thinking about what to include on it. A popular choice for a lot of couples is to include “Welcome to the Wedding of…. Bride & Groom names” followed by the date. Rose gold watercolour design wedding welcome banner

Keeping them simple helps allow text to be large enough to be read form a distance. Others may use the sign to give guests an order of service – a brief run down of what is happening for the day and what times certain events will take place. You can also add design elements, such as hearts, flowers or other graphics, that match into your overall theme and personality style to make the banner more unique and personal. We like to try and match designs to couples wedding stationery and continue the theme throughout their stationery from start to finish.

    4: Overall Conclusion

Overall, wedding welcome banners are a simple and stylish way to add a personal touch to your special day and make your guests feel welcomed and appreciated. Whether you choose a traditional banner, a rustic sign, or a floral arrangement, a well-placed welcome banner can add a touch of warmth and charm to your wedding celebration.
